This product was uploaded on Excellent for a first time costume maker. The boning holds it’s shape well for my corset costume. I don’t think it’s strong enough to make a “real” corset that would drastically altur my body shape, but it hold the piece together to compliment my nature figure. It was use to run through my machine, my only issue was if I went at the fastest speed the friction between the needle and boning would heat it up and create a slight burning plastic smell, but it did not appear to do any damage to my machine or the boning. These are NOT slouch boots – they are supposed to stay up at the knee, but because my calf is not quite big enough, they don’t “grab” my leg but slide down. I hated to just get rid of the boots so I was looking for a solution. Ah ah! I thought – BONING! So I found this item. Read through reviews and questions and found at least one other person had the same idea. But the answers were disappointing to say the least… IT will look like hula hoops in your boots… The boots are meant to slouch… I wouldn’t ruin the boots trying… the stitching will show… Sheesh. Well at least no one answered with “I don’t know” – seriously, if you don’t know then DON’T ANSWER…Well, I ignored those answers and decided to give it a try. I cut the boning to a length that went vertically at the front of the boot – from the top of the foot area to the base of the knee section. I stitched at the bottom, middle and top (just top and bottom and the boning rotates) attaching the boning to the fabric lining inside the boot. And voila!!! Boots that stay up like they are supposed to! |
