This product was uploaded on When we lived on the east coast it was Prince (remember the line… Tuesday is Prince spaghetti day) or Ronzoni but when we moved west in the late 90’s they weren’t available in many sizes & shapes so we tried many others and settled on Barilla. Since the taste is pretty uniform we buy it based on the shape and there’s plenty to choose from and the flavor seems to be always consistent. Local prices vary widely and the food stores are about 40-miles away so we only shop once a month but when I can find it for a buck a box, or less, getting it delivered is a much better alternative. We have at least one box a week and often two during the summers for cold salads mid-week. It’s a straight pasta on Monday with a red or white sauce (Angle Hair, Thin or Spaghetti), Linguine when we have Cincinnati Chile and a shape for the cold salads (Penne, Rotini, Shells or Elbows) and the occasional Bow-Tie for soups. Not that anyone should care much about what we eat we do so because we’ve never had a disappointment with it and we don’t have to rinse it if eating it hot… we just add some salt and olive oil to the water before adding the pasta and it has never had a starchy taste but it will stick if we don’t add some sauce to the pot or a little more olive oil. Using it for cold salads does require rinsing it. No complaints with this product in any size or shape and at about a buck forty in the stores buying by the case, getting a discount and free shipping is a no-brainer for us..
